Q: When viewing a parent category page, the products that are directly assigned to that parent category are displayed as expected below the sub-category thumbnails. However, when there are no products in the category a message box saying "There are no products matching the selection." appears where the products usually appear. This message suggests that there aren't any products in the sub-categories either, but of course we want people to click on the sub-cat thumbs. How can I remove this message while still showing products in other categories and while also showing the sub-category thumbnails?

    A: I did find the offending line in app\design\frontend\[custom folder]\default\template\catalog\product\list.phtml and commented it out. But it would be good if 'Easy Catalog Images' has control over this, because I think by enabling this addon it takes the control away from managing this on a per category basis using 'Display mode: static blocks and products'

Q: We have installed the easy catalog images extension and we think it's great! We have just one question though...How do we hide images from categories that do not contain any products (empty categories)?

    A: In subcategories.phtml add this line:[code]if (!$_category->getProductCount() > 0): continue; endif;[/code]under the following line:[code]if (!$_category->getIsActive()): continue; endif;[/code]This works like a charm!

Q: I installed the extension without issue in Magento 1.5 version however when I try to configure it Ii get a 404 error message. Is it not compatible with this version? What could I have done wrong?

    A: Please try using recent extension version from our store. Also you should log out from admin and then login again in order to refresh admin access info.

Q: Hello, I'm trying to install this on latest version of magento (Magento Connect Manager ver. 1.5.0.1 When I try to install I get these errors in the console. Any ideas? Q: Hi, first let me thank you for your extension. I have the following question: Now, the subcategory titles are grouped, and so are the subcategory products. Is it possible to bring the title and the products belonging to the same subcategory together, i.e. TITLE Subcategory 1 -> PRODUCT 1 Subcategory 1, PRODUCT 2 Subcategory 1; TITLE Subcategory 2 -> PRODUCT 1 Subcategory 2, PRODUCT 2 Subcategory 2 and so on?

Q: thanks for your support, but i am still confused about how to show sub-categories on the categories page....it is a quite useful function for me, and i think you guys should put this part back :) i am not specialized in code, so could you please help me to add this function into last version of "easycatalogima" extension. thanks.

    A: We have not removed this option in recent extension release. Category image on catalog page was removed In recent extension version.

Q: HI, thanks for your support, but i still have a question: after I enabled the extension, the website front shows this route:frontend/default/xcar/template/catalog/category/view.phtml Mage_Catalog_Block_Category_ViewIt seems the system did not use "easycatalogimg" extension at all,,,,and if I need to put sub-categorie's image code back, i should find code on "subcategories.phtml", right?thanks for your support :) Leo

    A: Sorry but default categories images block are removed from categories pages in recent extension version. You can put it back at the easycatalogimg/view.phtml but you should add additional condition to show only on child categories.

Q: Hello, Great extension. Is it possible to upload the image for the categories so this extension will display the thumbnail...and then have it not display the image that was uploaded for that category when you are actually on that categories page? Thanks

    A: Easycatalog images resize option is based on default magento image class. So you should try edit $result = imagejpeg($object->getTmpImage(), $object->getFilePath(true), 80); at app/code/core/Mage/Media/Model/File/Image.php .

Q: Dear Template Master,I have install the extension manualy because I was not sure of the Magento Connect version already compatibal is with 1.4It look likes the extension works creat but I have 3 questions: - Can I use in the future Magento Connect for installing in Magento 1.4 - Now I've placed most of the files in default/myTheme, but can I use the extension then in all themes or have I to place the files in default/default for use in al themes? - Must I place the file package.xml on my server?Sorry for my bad English, I hope you understand me.

    A: - Yes you can use Magento Connect in recent Magento 1.4 but you can also download recent extension version from our store.- You have to place extension files in default/default in case you want same extension instance for all your stores- You don't need package.xml

Q: I have installed your extension from the Magento Connect website. However, it only appears on the Home Page of my site, and i dont want this, i want it on the category pages. Can you tell me what i am doing wrong I have set category pages to be anchors I have not set anything else with them

    A: Please check extension settings. Probably you have set this block of for anchor categories and categories with child categories. You can also hide categoires block on main page in extension settings. Please set "Show categories listing on homepage" to no.

    A: You can download zip package from our store or either install this extension from Magento Connect. In case you are using .tgz from Magento Connect then you should manually upload all files to right directories. We recommend using package from our store.

    A: Rolo, then you should put all files into right folders. I think it's better for you do download it from store so all files will be already put into right folders.
